why do I have to pay for the datafeed?

Real-time market data from CME, NYMEX, COMEX, and CBOT exchanges is licensed content. CME Group charges every end user for access to their live price feeds. This applies whether you trade through a prop firm, a retail broker, or an institutional setup.

When you pay for the data feed at Savius, the fee goes to our provider (DxFeed through Volumetrica), who pays CME Group directly. We do not mark up or profit from this charge these are the standard rates set by the exchanges.

"But prop firm xyz doesn't ask me to pay for the datafeed":

False: Most prop firms hid the datafeed costs behind a monthly recurring fee during the evaluation phase (with simulated data included), then make you pay an activation fee once you pass, and from that point forward, you pay the exchange data fees on your own anyway.
